1. ABOUT ALIBIKES
1.1 AliBikes is a mobile bicycle mechanic business operating in and around Keynsham, BS31, Bristol, Bath and surrounding areas.
1.2 AliBikes provides mobile repairs, servicing, inspections, collection and delivery, and workshop-based work where a bicycle or e-bike needs to be taken away for completion.
1.3 AliBikes is operated as a sole trader business. Where required by law, official paperwork such as invoices and formal business correspondence will identify the legal owner of the business and the trading name AliBikes.
1.4 AliBikes is insured for the full scope of its business operations, including work carried out, bikes in transit, and bikes stored at the workshop. AliBikes does not carry professional indemnity insurance. This means AliBikes does not accept responsibility for separate professional advice, design advice, valuation reliance, or specialist consultancy beyond the practical bicycle mechanic services actually agreed.
2. DEFINITIONS
In these Terms:
“AliBikes”, “we”, “us” and “our” means the AliBikes business.
“Customer”, “you” and “your” means the person booking or paying for the service.
“Bike” means any bicycle, e-bike, cargo bike, adapted bicycle, or related item accepted by AliBikes for inspection, repair, servicing, collection, delivery or other work.
“E-bike” means an electrically assisted pedal cycle. AliBikes only accepts road-legal, factory-manufactured OEM e-bikes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
“Booking” means an appointment, collection, mobile visit, workshop job, estimate request or agreed service.
“Estimate” means an approximate price based on the information available at the time.
“Quote” means a fixed price for defined work, unless later issues are discovered or the scope changes.
“Parts” means replacement components, consumables, fittings, fluids, tyres, tubes, brake pads, cables, bearings, batteries, accessories or other items supplied or fitted as part of the work.
3. SCOPE OF SERVICES
3.1 AliBikes provides bicycle and e-bike mechanical services including, but not limited to:
- general servicing;
- safety checks;
- puncture repairs;
- drivetrain work;
- brake work;
- wheel and tyre work;
- gear adjustment and replacement;
- bearing work;
- e-bike mechanical work;
- selected e-bike system work where within competence and equipment scope;
- collection and delivery;
- workshop-based repair where a mobile repair is not suitable.
3.2 AliBikes may refuse or stop work where:
- the bike is unsafe to repair economically;
- the bike is not road legal;
- the bike is heavily modified in a way that creates unacceptable risk;
- parts are unavailable;
- the customer has not authorised necessary work;
- the work falls outside AliBikes’ competence, tools, equipment, insurance or reasonable safety limits;
- the customer behaves abusively, dishonestly or unreasonably.
3.3 AliBikes does not normally work on illegal e-bikes, unrestricted conversion kits, throttle-only bikes, home-made electrical systems or bikes that appear to be unlawful for UK public road use.
3.4 AliBikes may decline work on counterfeit, unsafe, excessively worn, corroded, structurally damaged, crash-damaged, heavily modified, incomplete or previously badly repaired bikes.
4. BOOKINGS AND CUSTOMER AGREEMENT
4.1 A customer may make a booking by website, telephone, message, email, social media, in person or any other accepted method.
4.2 A booking is not confirmed until AliBikes accepts it.
4.3 By making a booking, allowing work to begin, handing over a bike, accepting a quote or estimate, or paying for work, the customer agrees to these Terms.
4.4 AliBikes may ask for photographs, bike details, access information, fault descriptions, component information or other information before confirming a booking.
4.5 The customer is responsible for providing accurate information. AliBikes is not responsible for delay, extra cost, wasted visit, incorrect estimate or inability to complete work where the customer has provided incomplete or inaccurate information.
5. MOBILE VISITS, ACCESS AND COLLECTION
5.1 The customer must provide safe, reasonable and lawful access for AliBikes to inspect or work on the bike.
5.2 The customer must ensure that the bike is available at the agreed time and location.
5.3 Where a mobile visit cannot reasonably be completed because the customer is unavailable, the bike is inaccessible, the address is wrong, the bike is materially different from the information given, or the work is unsuitable for mobile completion, AliBikes may charge a call-out, inspection or wasted visit fee.
5.4 Where a bike needs to be taken to the workshop, AliBikes will explain this to the customer and agree the next steps.
5.5 Bikes in AliBikes’ custody for transit or workshop work are covered by AliBikes’ business insurance, subject to policy terms, normal exclusions and reasonable care by AliBikes.
6. ESTIMATES, QUOTES AND PRICING
6.1 AliBikes may provide estimates before inspection. Estimates are based on the information available at the time and are not binding where further inspection reveals additional faults, seized components, hidden damage, incorrect parts, compatibility problems, excessive wear or extra labour.
6.2 A quote applies only to the specific work described. If the customer asks for extra work, if further faults are found, or if the original information was incomplete or inaccurate, the price may change.
6.3 AliBikes will seek customer approval before carrying out significant extra paid work, unless the extra work is minor, essential, safety-related, or reasonably necessary to complete the agreed work.
6.4 Parts prices can change due to supplier pricing, availability, shipping cost, compatibility and quality level.
6.5 AliBikes may use good-quality aftermarket, OEM, equivalent or upgraded parts where appropriate. Where a customer specifically requests a particular brand, model or specification, this should be agreed before parts are ordered.
6.6 Where factory-manufactured OEM parts are required or more appropriate for safety, compatibility, warranty, e-bike systems or manufacturer-specific fitment, AliBikes may insist on using those parts.
6.7 Unless stated otherwise, all prices are in pounds sterling.
6.8 AliBikes reserves the right to correct obvious pricing errors.
7. PAYMENT TERMS
7.1 Payment is due:
- on completion for a mobile visit; or
- on delivery or collection where the bike has been taken back to the workshop.
7.2 AliBikes may require payment before releasing a bike after workshop work.
7.3 AliBikes may require payment upfront for special-order parts, expensive parts, unusual parts, diagnostic time, collection, or work where the customer has no previous relationship with AliBikes.
7.4 Accepted payment methods may include bank transfer, card payment, cash or other methods confirmed by AliBikes.
7.5 The customer must pay the agreed price, including labour, parts, consumables, collection/delivery charges, call-out fees, inspection fees and any authorised extras.
7.6 If payment is not made when due, AliBikes may:
- retain the bike until payment is made;
- suspend further work;
- charge reasonable costs incurred in recovering payment;
- cancel future bookings;
- exercise any legal rights available for unpaid invoices.
8. CUSTOMER CANCELLATION, RESCHEDULING AND MISSED APPOINTMENTS
8.1 The customer should give as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule.
8.2 AliBikes may charge a reasonable cancellation or wasted visit fee where:
- the customer cancels at short notice;
- the customer is not present or cannot provide access;
- AliBikes has already travelled;
- parts have been specially ordered;
- time has been reserved and cannot reasonably be rebooked.
8.3 Special-order parts, custom parts, non-returnable parts or parts ordered specifically for the customer may still be charged if the customer cancels after those parts have been ordered.
9. CONSUMER CANCELLATION RIGHTS
9.1 Where a booking is made at a distance or away from AliBikes’ normal business premises, consumer cancellation rights may apply.
9.2 In many cases, a consumer has a 14-day cancellation period for a distance or off-premises service contract.
9.3 If the customer asks AliBikes to start work during the 14-day cancellation period, the customer agrees that AliBikes may begin work before the cancellation period has expired.
9.4 If the customer cancels after asking AliBikes to start work within the 14-day cancellation period, the customer may have to pay for the work already carried out and any parts, materials or costs already reasonably incurred.
9.5 If the service has been fully performed within the cancellation period at the customer’s express request and with the customer’s acknowledgement that cancellation rights may be lost once the service is fully performed, the customer may lose the right to cancel that completed service.
9.6 Cancellation rights do not remove the customer’s responsibility to pay for authorised work already performed, parts already fitted, or special-order items where the law allows.
10. ALIBIKES CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING
10.1 AliBikes may cancel or reschedule a booking due to illness, weather, vehicle problems, parts availability, safety concerns, workload, traffic, access problems or other practical reasons.
10.2 AliBikes will try to give reasonable notice where possible.
10.3 AliBikes is not liable for indirect loss, inconvenience, missed events, travel costs, race/event entry costs or other consequential losses caused by cancellation, delay or rescheduling, except where the law does not allow such limitation.
11. PARTS, AVAILABILITY AND COMPATIBILITY
11.1 Bicycle parts are often model-specific, size-specific, year-specific or compatibility-dependent. AliBikes will use reasonable skill and care when identifying and sourcing parts.
11.2 AliBikes is not responsible for delays caused by supplier availability, incorrect supplier information, discontinued parts, manufacturer backorders or incompatibility not reasonably apparent before inspection.
11.3 Where a customer supplies their own parts:
- AliBikes may refuse to fit them;
- AliBikes does not warrant the part itself;
- AliBikes is not responsible for the quality, authenticity, safety, completeness or compatibility of customer-supplied parts;
- extra labour may be charged if the part is incorrect, incomplete, defective or difficult to fit.
11.4 AliBikes may refuse to fit parts that are unsafe, counterfeit, poor quality, incompatible, excessively worn, previously damaged or unsuitable for the bike.
12. WARRANTIES AND GUARANTEES
12.1 AliBikes will carry out services with reasonable care and skill.
12.2 Labour supplied by AliBikes is covered by a reasonable workmanship warranty. If there is a genuine issue with AliBikes’ workmanship, the customer should contact AliBikes promptly and allow AliBikes a fair opportunity to inspect and put the matter right.
12.3 Parts supplied by AliBikes may be covered by manufacturer or supplier warranties. Warranty terms vary by part and manufacturer.
12.4 Warranties do not normally cover:
- normal wear and tear;
- misuse, neglect, crash damage or overloading;
- racing, competition use or extreme riding unless specifically agreed;
- poor storage or corrosion;
- contamination;
- customer adjustment, attempted repair or interference after collection;
- faults caused by other worn or defective components;
- customer-supplied parts;
- damage caused by continuing to ride after a fault becomes apparent.
12.5 A warranty or goodwill remedy does not affect the customer’s statutory rights.
13. CUSTOMER RIGHTS UNDER THE CONSUMER RIGHTS ACT 2015
13.1 For consumer customers, AliBikes must provide services with reasonable care and skill.
13.2 Where no price has been agreed, the customer must pay a reasonable price.
13.3 Where no time has been agreed, the service must be performed within a reasonable time.
13.4 If AliBikes fails to perform a service with reasonable care and skill, the customer may be entitled to repeat performance where this is possible.
13.5 If repeat performance is impossible, cannot be done within a reasonable time, or would cause significant inconvenience, the customer may be entitled to an appropriate price reduction.
13.6 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes those statutory rights.
13.7 These rights apply to the service provided by AliBikes. They do not make AliBikes responsible for unrelated faults, pre-existing damage, general wear and tear, future maintenance needs, or faults caused by parts or systems outside the agreed work.
14. SAFETY, ROADWORTHINESS AND LIMITS OF WORK
14.1 AliBikes may advise that a bike is unsafe, uneconomical or unsuitable for use.
14.2 The customer must not ride a bike that AliBikes has advised is unsafe until the relevant safety issues have been resolved.
14.3 A repair or service does not guarantee that the entire bike is perfect, new, fully restored or free from all defects unless a full inspection and the specific relevant work has been agreed.
14.4 AliBikes is not responsible for parts of the bike that were not inspected, not worked on, hidden, inaccessible, outside the agreed scope, or not reasonably discoverable.
14.5 Bikes are mechanical items subject to wear, impact, fatigue, corrosion, contamination and adjustment changes. Further faults may become apparent after initial work, especially on older or heavily worn bikes.
15. E-BIKES
15.1 AliBikes only accepts road-legal, factory-manufactured OEM e-bikes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
15.2 AliBikes may refuse work on:
- illegal or derestricted e-bikes;
- DIY conversion kits;
- throttle-only systems not lawful for the intended use;
- damaged, swollen, modified or unsafe batteries;
- wiring that appears unsafe or tampered with;
- systems outside AliBikes’ tooling, training, diagnostic access or insurance scope.
15.3 AliBikes is not responsible for manufacturer software restrictions, locked systems, dealer-only diagnostics, discontinued systems, firmware limitations or manufacturer refusal to supply parts.
15.4 The customer must provide keys, chargers, displays, batteries, lock codes, diagnostic access information or other items reasonably needed to inspect or work on the e-bike.
16. STORAGE, UNCOLLECTED BIKES AND ABANDONED ITEMS
16.1 The customer must collect or accept return delivery of the bike promptly once notified that work is complete, paused or cancelled.
16.2 AliBikes may charge reasonable storage fees where a customer fails to collect or accept return of a bike within a reasonable time.
16.3 If a bike or item remains uncollected after repeated reasonable attempts to contact the customer, AliBikes may treat the item as abandoned and may take steps permitted by law to recover unpaid charges and storage costs. This may include sale or disposal only after reasonable notice has been given.
16.4 AliBikes may retain a bike or parts until unpaid charges are settled, subject to applicable law.
17. OLD PARTS AND DISPOSAL
17.1 Unless the customer asks to keep replaced parts before or at the time of repair, AliBikes may dispose of old parts after completion.
17.2 Old parts may be recycled, discarded, retained for demonstration, or disposed of responsibly.
17.3 AliBikes will not usually return worn consumables such as cables, tubes, tyres, chains, cassettes, brake pads or contaminated parts unless requested.
18. INSPECTION REPORTS, VALUATIONS AND ADVICE
18.1 AliBikes may provide practical comments, inspection notes, condition reports, repair recommendations, used-bike checks or informal opinions.
18.2 Unless expressly agreed in writing, these are mechanical observations only and are not:
- professional indemnity-backed advice;
- legal advice;
- insurance advice;
- engineering certification;
- accident reconstruction;
- formal valuation for reliance by third parties;
- a guarantee of future performance;
- a guarantee that every defect has been found.
18.3 Any valuation, insurance note or condition comment is an opinion based on available information at the time. The customer or third party should not rely on it beyond its stated purpose.
19. LIABILITY
19.1 AliBikes does not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or breach of statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
19.2 Subject to clause 19.1, AliBikes is not liable for:
- pre-existing faults;
- hidden defects;
- unrelated failures;
- normal wear and tear;
- manufacturer defects;
- customer-supplied parts;
- damage caused by customer misuse, neglect, crash, overloading, corrosion, poor storage or continued use after a fault is known;
- loss of events, races, rides, holidays, travel, earnings, business, reputation or enjoyment;
- indirect or consequential losses.
19.3 AliBikes’ responsibility is limited to the work agreed and carried out by AliBikes.
19.4 Where AliBikes is responsible for defective workmanship, the normal remedy will be inspection and, where appropriate, repeat performance or a suitable price reduction in line with consumer law.
20. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
The customer agrees to:
- provide accurate information about the bike and fault;
- disclose known damage, previous repairs, crash history, e-bike modifications or unusual use;
- provide safe access for mobile work;
- provide keys, chargers, lock combinations and security information where needed;
- authorise extra work where required;
- pay on time;
- inspect the bike reasonably promptly after completion;
- stop riding and contact AliBikes if a problem becomes apparent after work;
- not tamper with or adjust disputed work before AliBikes has had a fair chance to inspect it, unless necessary for safety.
21. TEST RIDES
21.1 The customer authorises AliBikes to carry out reasonable test rides where necessary to diagnose, check or confirm work.
21.2 Test rides may be carried out before or after repair.
21.3 AliBikes will take reasonable care during test rides.
22. PHOTOGRAPHS AND BUSINESS RECORDS
22.1 AliBikes may take photographs of bikes and components for repair records, condition evidence, warranty, customer explanation, parts identification, insurance, dispute protection or business administration.
22.2 AliBikes may use anonymous photographs of bikes or components for general business purposes, including social media or website content, provided the photo does not identify the customer, the customer’s address, personal information, payment information, or other private details.
22.3 AliBikes will not intentionally publish personal information or identifying customer details without consent.
23. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
23.1 AliBikes will handle customer personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
23.2 AliBikes may collect and use customer details for booking, repair, communication, invoicing, warranty, record keeping, legal compliance and business administration.
23.3 Customer data is not sold.
23.4 The AliBikes Privacy Policy should be read alongside these Terms.
24. COMPLAINTS
24.1 If the customer is unhappy with any work, they should contact AliBikes as soon as possible with details of the issue.
24.2 The customer should allow AliBikes a reasonable opportunity to inspect the bike and investigate the concern.
24.3 Where a complaint is valid, AliBikes will consider appropriate remedies, which may include repeat performance, repair, adjustment, refund, partial refund or other reasonable solution.
24.4 AliBikes may reject complaints where the issue is unrelated to the work carried out, caused by customer misuse, caused by third-party interference, caused by wear and tear, or raised after unreasonable delay.
25. EVENTS OUTSIDE ALIBIKES’ CONTROL
25.1 AliBikes is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside reasonable control, including severe weather, illness, accidents, road closures, traffic, supplier failure, parts shortages, vehicle breakdown, power failure, internet failure, theft, fire, flood, public emergency or legal restrictions.
26. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
26.1 AliBikes may update these Terms from time to time.
26.2 The version applying to a booking will normally be the version in force at the time the booking is accepted, unless changes are required by law or agreed with the customer.

28. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
28.1 These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
28.2 The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where consumer law gives the customer the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
